Did you know that since ancient times, the kimono, from Japan and China (in its earliest versions), is a piece of clothing that changes its shape, pattern, and fabric depending on your social position, sex, age or marital status? In Western countries, for many years now, we have adapted the kimono and turned it into a versatile garment, which can be used both out (as outerwear or as a jacket), as well as at home, as a coverall or bathrobe. We have even transferred it to special occasions such as weddings, where it acts almost as one extra piece of bridal lingerie, customizing it and placing embroidery and ornaments to make it fancier for the bride and bridesmaids while preparing for the great event.

Once again, I have the pleasure of collaborating with the Dutch lingerie brand Hunkemöller to bring you new ideas to style their garments, which as might know if you have seen previous posts, they have everything from bikinis and swimsuits to sports and training clothes, as well as lingerie and accessories of all kinds.

This time, I chose as the main piece for this collaboration the red satin Jennifer kimono which has lace in its sleeves, and two pairs of super fluffy socks to be at home, in gray and white. The kimono has a medium length, finishing near the hips, and I thought it was a great idea both to wear it as homewear (I think it will be a fantastic piece when the period between seasons arrives since the satin makes it quite light and fresh), as to use as outerwear, with a bra or top underneath as a cardigan, since it is very elegant and the red color makes it quite dressy and fabulous.


As for the socks, I am a huge fan of those pairs which are super fluffy and colorful. They're great and super cozy to work at home, and as they are quite difficult to find, when I saw them on the Hunkemöller website, I didn't think twice and decided to add them to my basket.

En Occidente, desde hace ya muchos años, hemos adaptado el kimono y lo hemos convertido en una prenda versátil, que se puede utilizar tanto fuera de casa (a modo de prenda exterior o chaqueta), como en el interior, a modo de sobretodo o albornoz. Incluso, lo hemos trasladado a ocasiones especiales como las bodas, donde actúa casi como una pieza más de lencería de novia, personalizándolo y colocándole bordados y adornos para vestirlo por ésta y su séquito mientras se preparan para el gran evento.

Una vez más, tengo el placer de colaborar con la marca de lencería holandesa Hunkemöller para traeros nuevas ideas para vestir sus prendas, que como ya sabréis si habéis visto otros posts anteriores, tienen desde bikinis y bañadores, hasta ropa deportiva y de entrenamiento, pasando por lencería y accesorios de todo tipo.

Esta vez, escogí como pieza fuerte para esta colaboración el kimono Jennifer de satén  rojo con encaje en las mangas, y dos pares de calcetines super mullidos para estar por casa, en color gris y blanco. El kimono tiene un largo medio, como por la cadera, y me pareció una idea genial tanto para llevar por casa (creo que va a ser una pieza fantástica cuando llegue el entretiempo, ya que el satén lo hace bastante ligero y fresco), como para utilizar como ropa de calle, con un sujetador o top debajo a modo de cárdigan, ya que es muy elegante y el color rojo hace que tenga muchísimo protagonismo en cualquier outfit.

En cuanto a los calcetines, soy muy fan de los que son peluditos y de colores. Para trabajar desde casa son geniales, y son bastante difíciles de encontrar, así que, cuando los vi en la web de Hunkemöller, no me lo pensé dos veces y decidí añadirlos a la cesta.
