Pasarela Barreira 2019 #lightandspace in Valencia

One more year I had the pleasure of attending the Pasarela Barreira A+D, organized by this school specialized in fashion, graphic design and interior design based in Valencia. My Firenze comeback last year made it impossible to attend the last edition of the catwalk, so this year I really felt like knowing the ideas of the young Valencian designers. This year's theme aimed to combine technology and sustainability in the looks shown by the students of the different degrees and masters with recycled and/or recyclable fabrics and futuristic concepts.
I think one more year, the measuring rod was pretty high talking about to the ideas shown by these emerging designers, whose proposals were valued and awarded by a jury composed national and international fashion professionals of valued expertise, as Valencian hatter Betto García, the designer Gaia Borina and the creative director of Ángel Schlesser, Daniel Rabaneda.
The places chosen to carry out this event have been very iconic throughout the past editions, and this year has been celebrated in the cloister of the Monastery of San Miguel de los Reyes, located on the outskirts of Valencia and surrounded by la Huerta. As a person who attends many events of this type, in addition to my technical background, I usually appreciate how the paths and specific places where the action is happening are set and designed. A well-designed catwalk is able to praise the presented styles, showing them to the public from several angles, in a close way but letting them breathe (otherwise, if the public is badly placed, only a few will see the outfits, and no designer would want to lose a single potential client). I think this edition perfectly complied with these premises, and I loved that as a public, we could freely wander around the galleries of the cloister, leaving the garden as the place where the models moved around. In addition, to add complexity to the matter, there were so many proposals and designers (six hundred photos in my camera attest it!) that the whole show could have been endless, but the truth is that I think it was very pleasant and that all the attendees loved it.
Once again: congratulations and many thanks for the invitation!
*note: I do not know the names of the designers of the proposals you see in this post. As I said before: there were so many designers that having them located in the RRSS was such a titanic task. Dear designers: if you want to be named in this post, leave a comment or send me an email to somethingfashionblog@gmail.com and I will be happy to add you;)
