It's a pity that the busier I am, the more events and interesting stuff to do seem to be around town! Last Friday evening I got invited to Anartxy's store opening and their new collection's presentation in Valencia, where we got a chance to see firsthand what is going on when it comes to chic and minimal jewelry for all budgets.

I love jewelry of all kinds, but I always say that I usually wear very few accessories in my hands such as rings or bracelets because of my daily tasks. I always tend to have a pencil in my hands and be drawing, or spending a lot of time typing on the computer, so I do not find it very comfortable. Therefore, I am a big fan of necklaces and earrings, and the latter, the bigger and sparklier, the better! Anartxy's jewelry collection has a wide variety of pieces to chose from, and I already thought about Christmas gifts for close ones and some friends. I find it hard to fail with this year's presents!

The event was held downtown at one of the busiest commercial streets in Valencia, filled with cupcakes, tasty early-evening snacks, and lovely Sangria Lolea to lift spirits. I attended with some friends and catched up with some local blogger acquaintances in this vintage dress and statement earrings. We definitely had a very nice time and lots of fun!

Last Monday I attended the presentation event of the new creative line of the artisan local goldsmith company, Orfebres Peris Roca. It was an event organized in a restaurant called Juan de Juanes, in the very historic center of Valencia, located in a medieval building refurbished featuring a nice and cozy architecture and interior design.

Orfebres Peris Roca is a local firm with its own workshop in the center of the city of Valencia, specializing in making jewelry sets and jewelry not only for the local festival, las Fallas, but also for special occasions requiring unique pieces that place those special moments in the lifetime of each of their customers. Brand's creative director, Elisa Peris, told us in the presentation how this new line of the brand tried to emulate the innovation-tradition relationship that has always been linked to Peris Roca, since her grandfather founded the workshop in 1918, dedicating himself to the crafting of religious imagery, to her father's inheriting the family business, and who began making jewelry and sets. Now there's she, who tries to bring luxury and design to the kitchen and interior design through table arrangements.

The "45º" cutlery collection has been designed in collaboration with Sanserif Creatius studio, in an attempt to return to the founding of the workshop 100 years ago, designing a cutlery set that combines stainless steel and titanium to draw a diagonal line on its surface. I found the concept behind it very interesting, approaching modernism but in its lesser-known face, with no filigree or ornaments, creating an eclectic tableware with an Art Deco hue. It was a pleasure being able to attend this presentation and meet all those people involved in the creation and fulfillment of this new concept, which I am sure will bring many joys to local crafts environment and creatives behind it!
