Pasarela de las Artes 2018: silk exposition + outfit

Thanks to Lourdes from El rincón de Raspa for the outfit pictures
First of all, sorry for being absolutely M.I.A. around here this past couple of weeks! On the other hand, I have been quite active on Instagram lately, as it has become my on-the-go tool to stay tuned on the fashion and design circuit in Valencia and keep updated with my closest ones as well (apart from Whatsapp, which I dare to say it's become my closest friend!). Days are getting busy although it's Summertime, and if I worked on the studio last year, this year is turning similar but finally with my own projects now as a graduate architect, which is really exciting. At the moment it's just little projects regarding article-writing and organization-related businesses, but there are coming new things and I can't wait to get lost on them.
On the other hand, here's finally, almost a month after the event, the very last post regarding Pasarela de las Artes 2018 in Valencia! It was such a condensed succession of events in such a short time period that I've had the obligation of taking a step back to process everything and tell you with all detail and the adequate rhythm every conference, every fashion show, and collection. This time, I'm here to show you the chosen outfit for the second day of the event as accredited press, as well as showing you some snapshots I took on the temporary silk exposition which was held for three days during the Pasarela de las Artes. In the exhibition, promoted by the UNESCO as well as the rest of the event, there were displayed different ways, both traditional and contemporary ways to understand silk in the city of Valencia. We could enjoy fabrics used in the traditional fallera gowns by fabric manufacturer Vives y Marí, which designs and colors are known all over the city.
We could also enjoy the mixed media designs in the capsule collection Silk Waves crafted by Fibres in collaboration with designer Ángeles Esparza. Laser cut metal sheets which reminded my laser cut models at the Architecture School, with the particularity that these ones formed beautiful jewels lined in colorful silk. Headpieces, statement bib necklaces, and brooches which adorned some mannequins strategically positioned on the patio of the Museum.
Definitely, a local event with a global soul, which played with local tradition in unexpected ways and got the most of silk as a material and way to live and understand a city which breathes fashion.
I was wearing:
H&M pleated skirt
Calvin Klein sandals
Zara sheer blouse
Joid'Art earrings
