Pink velvet dress

This outfit ended a bit unexpected. You know I'm more the kind of B&W lass, or moreover, the one who always matches her outfits with a black or grey piece because lack of color-combination-ability. But this ended on a soft, sweet and fluffy mix of pieces I just put on together on a total rush on a regular holidays crisp morning. Actually, half the outfit is second hand which either my mum or I have collected. The velvet crossover dress is from this FW 16/17 Zara season, but I got it from a second hand online market, the same where I got this Monet velvet choker. The fluffy white coat is from a local thrift store. I'm not very much into soft, fluffy fabrics as velvet; I'm more on the side of wool fabrics and knits if it's cold outside but looks like this day I woke up in a sort of unicorn-mood. Sometimes, it's nice and cozy to get into your cotton candy looks for a while, isn't it?
I'm currently involved into my exam-period January craziness, and as soon as I get rid of them, I'll put my head directly into a pair of architecture contests and some cool projects in College, which will include some of my fashion and product design pieces to be shown at the Architecture School art exhibit. I'm super excited about it! I'm also back on track with sport, thanks to a friend who's been pushing me to start doing some jogging, work hard a couple of evenings per week and eat healthier. I hope this ends on a comeback to the fencing piste by the beginning of next season! I'll keep you tuned, and share some of my progress or maybe some tips if you are interested as I've done before with this kind of blog posts.
I think I'm done for today! Just, coming back to the beginning of this post, and opening a bit of discussion about the topic...
Velvet, soft fabrics and everything fluffy... Are they yay, or nay?
I was wearing:
Zara pink crossover velvet dress
Primichi high boots
Local store bag
Monet velvet choker
Thrifted fluffy coat

Hi, really this dress is super interesting. The fact that it is made of velvet, makes it even more special because it is a delicate piece that is too beautiful to be overshadowed by the fur coat.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, this look had everything to succeed but unfortunately for me (maybe for a matter of personal taste) did not result precisely because you want to mix so many elements. An example of this was the choker that because it was a little rock needed to be conjugated in a different way, as well as the boots that weighed the look and removed the purpose of the outfit.
If it were me, I would bet on the dress as a protagonist for being minimalist and sophisticated, replacing the high boots with stiletto heels or high-heeled sandals with a thin strip and of course you would need another type of jacket. Maybe a long coat, lighter and more fluid, but I hope you do not get hurt by my comment that only had the purpose of being constructive and positive, nothing negative or hate. Kisses and do not give up
Hi! Of course I'm not annoyed by the comment. In fact, I do think that's the beauty behind fashion and style: it enhances different opinions, different points of view and appreciations about the same thing not many disciplines can handle.

Best!
