XVII Valencia Fashion Week. Day 2
9:00 AM
Second day of #VFW. It was short but intense for me, as I didn't go to all the shows at Museo del Carmen but assisted to some of the most significant ones, which makes me very happy. One more day, all the public was thrilled to discover the new proposals for this coming year's Spring/Summer season. As it was Friday evening, the hall where all the catwalk was developed started being crowded and more crowded as the clock moved.
That day we had the pleasure to assist to a truly master lesson in elegance. From the emerging designers at "Zona D" who were David Blay, Miriam Garcia and Benavente to Alexis Carballosa and Gabriel Seguí, every piece was a perfect craftsmanship work, every detail on the designs was orchestrated since the very beginning and the color palette was really defined, but transmitted lots of different things. Textures on the fabrics also played super important roles that evening.
So, here we go with some little reviews, or let's say reports about the different things I saw! Let's start with David Blay on the emerging designers zone, which I must confess was my favorite collection on all the fashion week. Well, maybe one of my favorites actually. I think the word that would describe it the best way is cute. Slight suggestions of Chanel style because of the fabrics and cuts, but also really soft and simple designs featuring capes, rain coats and blouses.

Miriam Garcia's collection was colorful and fun. Feminine and full of diverse kind of pieces, it featured some bug drawings between classic shapes, sheer fabrics and vintage stripes.
Finally, Alexis Caraballosa who was proclaimed winner of the "Best Styling Award" gave reasons enough to win this prize because of how he delighted us with this collection named "Caoba" (which means, "mahogany" in Spanish) and all the staging on it. With a classy style, long and majestic tails on the flowy dresses. He also included ecology as an inspiration for the designs and this kind of nests as a statement hairpiece. Beautiful collection, well done!
